A white flower was pretty perfect on the road out of Melide.

And another was a two-tone beauty.

Fido didn’t seem too impressed with us, but I give him credit for making good use of the gate.

A peregrino couple struck a pose and snapped a selfie at a rustic stone bridge.

And another crumbling farm house provided a tangible link to the past.

This guy’s horns pointed forward like twin .50 caliber machine guns.

They guarded their master’s house and granary well.

We passed by lots of grapes, and they made us thirsty.

The outskirts of Melide had some interesting old tumbledown stone homes.

And some featured simple but colorful embellishments that were quite touching in their humanity.

Some fancier pads also had fancier flowers.

And soon JC made an appearance on the weathered Cruceiro de Melide, with a beautiful Canary Island Palm tree as a backdrop.

The pipes coming out of the lions’ mouths kind of spoiled the fountain, but I guess it had to be done avoid deterioration.

This cool old building had a simple but beautiful enclosed sun porch.

A colorful mural near the cathedral welcomed peregrinos.

And a store across the street sold a variety of goods, including fishnet stockings!  You don’t see those very often any more.  The cathedral’s reflection in the window made an interesting juxtaposition.  I love random scenes like that!
